Elonzia Murray

Elonzia Murray, son of the late Oren and Lillie Bell-Murray, entered this world on June 25, 1940 in Tallassee, Alabama.

As a developing young man, Elonzia was taught by his mother the importance of discipline and the significance of family values. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of 46 years old.

Elonzia was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to many. He was a hardworking man and during his career worked for 17 years at Avondale Mills in Sylacauga, Alabama as a maintenance technician.

Elonzia had a sense of humor, he loved to sing, he was inspirational, he loved fast cars "Hot Rods". He loved and owned horses growing up and until he departed this life. He touched people's lives in a special way.

He is preceded in death by his parent. 6 Siblings: Betty Murray, Alvin Keith Murray, Ira Murray, Virginia Murray, Lee Edward Murray and Viola Murray.

He departed his life on December 8, 2019 at Lawrence Medical Center.

Cherishing his memories is his Devoted and Beloved Wife: Annie L. Robinson of Mt. Hope, Alabama. 3 Children: Susan Gunn of Odena, Alabama. Ida Gail (Robert) Tuck of Talladega, Alabama. Tommy Lewis Pearson of Sylacauga, Alabama. 9 Grandchildren. 12 Great-Grandchildren. 2 Brothers: Rev. Victor (Deborah) Murray of Waverly, Alabama. Oren Murray of Cleveland, Oh. A host of nieces, nephews, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.

Under the directing of Sharpley Funeral Home. Funeral will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 at 1:00pm at Rock Springs CPCA (located at 2345 Co Rd 448. Mt. Hope, Alabama 35651). Burial in Church Cemetery. The body will be in church 1 hr. before the services.
