Henry Shelvy Burton

Henry Shelvy Burton was born February 10, 1946 to Bertha Mae Gaines and the late Henry Clay Burton. He journeyed home Sunday, March 25, 2018.

Mr. Burton accepted God as his Savior at an early age. Later he joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, singing and sharing words of wisdom.

He leaves to cherish his Loving Wife of 18 years: Annie Pearl Looney-Burton. 3 Daughters: Sherolyn Burton of Huntsville, Al. Ann Chester of Atlanta, Ga. and Shelvy Nicole Lockett of Decatur, Al. 1 Son: Bryan Keith Looney of Valhermoso Springs, Al. 2 Step-Children: Jeffery Looney of Valhermoso Springs, Al. and Teresa Clark of Decatur, Al.  6 Grandchildren: Maurice Burton of Huntsville, Al. William Steele of Atlanta, Ga. Qunitasha Burton of Huntsville, Al. Christopher "C.J." Malone of Decatur, Al. Tykira Looney of Huntsville, Al. Karma Looney of Guntersville, Al. 7 Siblings: William (Mane) Foster (Deceased), Curtis James (Rose) Burton of Somerville, Al. Maggie Faye Mason (Moses-Deceased) of Pulaski, Tn. Amos Hayes Burton of Somerville, Al. Donald Alfred (Glenda) Burton of Hartselle, Al. Alfonzo Burton (Lisa-Deceased) of Somerville, Al. 1 Special Aunt: Virgie Aldridge of Decatur, Al. He leaves to cherish his memory 6 Great-Grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

 Under the directing of Sharpley Funeral Home. Funeral will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 12:00pm at Mt. Mariah United Methodist Church (located at 127 Mt. Mariah Circle Valhermoso Springs, Al. 35775). Pastor Kelvin Jones, Senior-Pastor Officiating. Burial in Draper-Chatman Cemetery. The body will be in church 1 hr., before the services.
