Robert James Key

Robert James Key was born June 3, 1943 to the late Eddie and Lou Ella Scruggs-Key in Lawrence County, Alabama.

Robert was a retired truck driver.

He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. he rededicated his life to the Lord and never looked back to the past.

He enjoyed his praise dance as a member of Pillard of Truth. He had a passion of helping everyone who needed him.

He is preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Charlie and Willie Lee Key. 1 Sister: Bessie Mae Key-Mason. 2 Grandsons: David Gullatte and Damon Mason.

Robert James Key departed this life on April 6, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his legacy: A Loving Wife of 54 years: Dora Mae Key. 1 Son: James E. Mason. 3 Daughters: Taricea Goldsmith, Era (Roger) Jones. Cathy (Mario) Nicholas. 1 God-Daughter: Mary Jayne. Grandchildren: James Mason, Kristen Mason-Hughes, Michael Mason, LaShandra Mason Wesley Goldsmith, Raeshondra Goldsmith, Latwona Key-Bailey, Antonio Key, Robert P. Key, Delyeonne Walton, Thomas Birt. 2 Brothers-In-Law: Ernest Mason and Cleveland Mason. 4 Sisters-In-Laws: Clara Mason, Mary (Dino) Lucas, Dr. Ernestine Mason, Aretha Stone. A host of Great-Grandchildren. Nieces: Louise (James) Smith, jr., Mary Jane Key, Virginia Swoopes, Delois Key. 2 Special Nieces: Janease (Bobby) Elliott, Sallie Hullett. 1 Special Great niece: Cynthia Mason. Several Great Nieces. Special Great Nephews: Rydale Key, Ricky, Anthony and Darnell Mason. Several Great Nephews. A Special Son-In-Law: Wesley (Dorothy) Goldsmith. Special Cousin: Billy (Barbara) Mason. Special Friends: Jackie M., John T., Misty H., Rose S., Charles D. A Very Special Friend: Bro. Romero Jones.

 Under the directing of Sharpley Funeral Home. Funeral will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 1:00pm at Macedonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Burial in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will be in church 1 hr., before the services.
