Robert Oneal ("Lep"-"Bob") Smith

Robert Oneal Smith was born to the late Thomas Jeff and the late Josephine Bolden-Smith, Sr., in Morgan County, Alabama on January 26, 1948. Robert was always full of life and laughter until his health failed him. He departed this life on March 28, 2019 at Parkway Medical Center Hospital.

Robert confessed his hope in Christ at an early age and joined St. Paul Spiritual Church under the leadership of Bishop Napoleon Priest.

Robert was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and a friend.

He received his education in Decatur City School System and was a graduate of Lakeside High School C/O 1969.

He was a "Jack Of All Trades." He loved cooking, fishing, skating and cycling. He would often visit family and friends on his bike. Robert was an avid painter and artist.

He was affectionately known as "Lep" or "Bob." by his family and friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents. A Sister: Josie Ella Reedus. A Brother: Thomas Jeff Smith, Jr. His Grandmother: Artelia Ross-Bolden. 2 Uncles: George Bolden ad James Bolden.

His memories will be cherished by his wife: Julia Lynn Ballentine-Smith. 7 Children: Mark Evans, Sabrina Evans, Tara Spinks, Makeba Miller, Robin Reynolds, Rodney Smith, Justin Smith. A host of Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. 6 Sisters: Carrie Garth, Linda (Ed) Davis, Margret Smith, Sharon Smith, Garry Ann Smith, Margret Stewart. 1 Brother: Larry Smith. 1 Aunt: Artelia Bolden. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Smith, 71 of Decatur, Alabama who passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Decatur Morgan Hospital / Parkway Campus will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 11:00am at The Henrietta Garth-Sharpley Memorial Chapel (Located at 310 Railroad St. NW.
