Sgt. Carsandra Gray Obituary

Sgt. Carsandra Gray was born October 19, 1954 to James Gray, Sr., and Helen Gray in Decatur, Alabama. She transitioned to her Heavenly Home on January 13, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital/ Decatur General Campus.

She confessed a belief in Jesus Christ at an early age and joined First Missionary Baptist Church and later in life corresponded with Shepard's Chapel.

Carsandra, against all odds, joined the United States Army in 1988 and loyally served for 18 years. She obtained her Master's Degree in Business and Accounting during her Military tenure.

Sgt. Gray was affectionately referred to as "Tomar" by those who knew her well and known as "Other Momma" by her grandchildren. Carsandra was a beautiful person who never met a stranger and she had a beautiful smile and giving heart. She will truly be missed.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Grandmother: Othella Gray. Brother: James Gray, Jr., and Great Nephews: Carson and Cameron Russell.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Daughters: Pamela (Randy) Woodruff of Madison, Alabama. Yolandia Roach of Decatur, Alabama. Sons: Dewight Cowley, Jr., of Memphis, Tenn. Karris (Shacoyah) Jones of Decatru, Alabama. Grand-Daughters: LaPorscha (George) Jennings. Asia Grays, Deonajia Foster all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Janessa (Daniel) Williams of Birmingham, Alabama. Kashyra Sanders of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Mashayla Harris, Jordyn Jones and Shamaurya Davidson all of Decatur, Alabama. Tayanah Stewart of Ozark, Alabama. Grandsons: Jalyn Woodruff of Madison, Alabama. Ashton Woodall, Kaleeb Langford and Karris Jones, Jr., all of Decatur, Alabama. Great-Grandchildren: Josiah, Logan, Connor and Noah Jennings all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Micah Biggs of Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Dylan Williams of Birmingham, Alabama. Ezrah and Euriah Elliott of Decatur, Alabama. Malachi Woodall of Courtland, Alabama. and Anilah Woodall of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A Loving Sister: Janice (James) Russell of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Nephews: James Russell, ll. Christopher (Tawana) Sizemore. Niece: Kelly (Nick) Orr. Cousins: Joyce (Mike) Burrell and Alma Birdsong of Decatur, Alabama. Misty Parker, Monique Crank and Kim Shankin of Cleveland, Ohio. A Special friend: Harriett Ofamata. A host of other relatives and friends.
