William Sharpley Obituary

Mr. William "Bill" Sharpley, son of the late Alvie and Ruth Sharpley, was born February 20, 1942 in Danville, Alabama and departed this life on Monday, June 3, 2019.

He attended Morgan County Training School and Tennessee State University. He worked as a Benefit Representative for General Motors until retirement.

At an early age, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ an joined Providence Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member and served as a Deacon. In his later years, he enjoyed attending Love Chapel of Trinity, Alabama under the leadership of Pastor Rose Allen.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother James Sharpley.

He leaves to cherish his memories: 3 Daughters: Sonya (Alphonso) Patterson, Lesa (Wesley) Torain and Shirelle Andrea Sharpley. 4 Grandchildren: Brandon (Davina) Patterson, Latosha ( Jarrod) Gordon, Wesley Jarrod (Jasmine) Torain and Jon Torain. 3 Great-Grandchildren: Carter Patterson, Aria Gordon and Olivia Torain.  His Special Friend: Mary B. Watkins. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral for Mr. William Alton Sharpley, 77 of Decatur, Alabama who passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 at Decatur Morgan Hospital/ Decatur General Campus will be held Friday, June 7, 2019 at 12:00pm at Macedonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church (Located at 1820 Old Moulton Rd. NW. Decatur, Alabama 35601).  Burial in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will be in church 1 hr., before the services.
