Charles Morris Elliott Sr. gained his wings on September 13, 2023. Charles known to many as Charlie or Scallydogg was born May 17, 1948, to the late Annie and Archie Elliott. Charlie was the baby of eight siblings.
In his early years he attended Cherry Street Elementary School and graduated from Lakeside High in 1966 where he went on to retire after 25 years at Lurleen B. Wallace Center. He then went to work 20 years at First United Methodist Church.
Charlie never met a stranger and was willing to help anybody in any way he could. This was accomplished through his entrepreneurship, wisdom and witty humor
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Clara Slaughter and Carolyn Moseley, two brothers Joseph Elliott and Earl Elliott and one daughter Charso Bates.
He lives to cherish his memories his wife Angela Elliott, three daughters, Denise Rice, Monica Bates and Victoria “Nikki” Elliott and one son Charles “Cee” (LaTosha) Elliott Jr. one sister Glenda Stevenson and two brothers Archie (Yvonne) Elliott and Adolphus (Ona) Elliott and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the many acts of kindness shown during their hours of bereavement. May God bless each of you and sustain a lasting peace within your soul.
Memorial service for Mr. Charles Morris Elliott Sr., 75, of Decatur, Alabama, who passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital Parkway Campus will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at First Missionary Baptist Church (233 Vine St NW, Decatur, AL 35601)
