Mr. Herman Batts, Jr., was born on January 18, 1949 to the late Herman Batts, Sr., and Ruth Batts in Morgan County.

He attended Morgan County Training School.

Mr. Batts confessed Hope in Christ and joined Pennylane Church Of Christ in Hartselle, Alabama, where he served faithfully until his health failed.

He is preceded in death by his parents. A Sister: Nettie Batts.

He departed this life on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his memories: A Loving and Devoted wife of 49 years Mrs. Lois A. Batts. 3 Sons: Christopher Batts, Byron Batts- all of Hartselle, Alabama. Marcus Mondez Lampkin- of Decatur, Alabama. 7 Grandchildren: Kyleigh Elizabeth Batts, Montria Winton, Kwadre Lampkin, Darian Scruggs, Jada Scruggs, Kiari Lampkin, Cornelius Morris. 1 Brother:  Pastor Joe David (Patricia) Batts- Of Danville, Alabama. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of life for Mr. Herman Batts, Jr., 71 of Hartselle, Alabama who passed away Sunday, June 20, 2020 at Decatur Morgan Hospital / Decatur General Hospital. A Public viewing will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 from 11:00am-5:00pm at The Henrietta Garth-Sharpley Memorial Chapel (Located at 410 Railroad St. NW. Decatur, Alabama 35601). Burial Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 12:00pm at Hartselle Memory Gardens (Located at 40 Lando Cain Rd. Hartselle, Alabama 35640). Due to CDC Guidelines and the spread of COVID-19 Only 5 visitors are permitted in the facility and face coverings must be worn. IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE!
