Herman Coleman, Jr Obituary

Herman Coleman was born in Morgan County, Alabama on May 10, 1950, to the late Herman Coleman Sr., and the late Mary Buford Coleman

He graduated from Lakeside High School with Honors in 1969. He left Decatur in the early 1970’s to work at General Motors in Detroit Michigan. He returned shortly to Decatur and worked for Jim Dandy and retired from there after 36 years which was then Big Heart Pet Brands. He could never sit still after retirement so worked for Fuller Homes, LLC until he became ill. He was a dedicated, and faithful Deacon at David Temple P. B. Church in Decatur, AL.

 

Those who have passed on before him are waiting at Heaven’s Gate along with the Heavenly Father are his parents, his son Cedric Coleman, his sister Gwendolyn Coleman Trammell, and Matilda Coleman the mother of his children.

Mr. Coleman departed this life on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at his home surrounded by family.

Herman leaves to mourn his memories:  A wife, Doris Coleman. His children:  Marcus Fuller (Yvette), Shondra Fuller, Tyra Coleman and Clarice Coleman all of Decatur. His grandchildren:   Kylil Coleman, Tony Cephus, Jr., Kenterria Burgess, Taylor Fuller, Isaiah Fuller, Marcus Fuller Jr., Camden Fuller, and Kelis Coleman all of Decatur. A dedicated brother, Glenn Coleman, and a nephew Rodney Coleman. A host of Cousins, great-nieces, great -nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Under the directing of Sharpley Funeral Home. A Graveside Service for Mr. Herman Coleman, Jr 71,  of Decatur, Alabama who passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at his residence will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00am at Decatur City Cemetery. Public viewing will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 from 12:00pm-6:30pm. CDC Guidelines 6ft apart and face mask or some sort of face covering will be enforced. No Exceptions. If You do not comply you will be asked to leave.
