Mrs. Julia Ann Mason-Cunningham was born to the late Henry and Louise Mason on November 15, 1933 in Courtland, Alabama. She departed this life on April 3, 2020.
Julia attended the Moulton City School System, but later graduated from Courtland High School. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Walter Cunningham.
She accepted Chris a an early age and joined First Baptist Church in Moulton, Alabama. She later moved to Decatur and joined St. Paul Spiritual Church under the leadership of Pastor Bertha Lyle and later under the leadership of the late Bishop Napoleon and Bishop Annie Priest. When her health prevented her from taking care of herself, she attended Decatur Christian Fellowship with her family and friends under the leadership of Pastors John an Shelia White.
She is preceded in death by Her Parents: Henry and Louise Mason. Her Husband: Walter Cunningham. 3 Sons: Percy Mason, Shaun Rogers and Ivan Rogers. 1 Daughter: Dorothy Jean Mason. 5 Brothers: Henry Mason, Earnest Watkins, Jimmy D. Mason, George Edward Mason and Willie Joe Mason. 3 Sisters: Mary Randall, Henrietta Mason and Virginia Mayes.
She leaves to cherish her memories: A Son: Fred Cunningham. 4 Daughters: Louvenia Guster, Della Cunningham, Sabrina Smith and Yolanda Rogers- all of Decatur, Alabama. 30 Grandchildren. 35 Great and Great-Great-Grandchildren. 1 Brother: Charlie Mason. 2 Sisters: Louise Crutcher and Minnie (Rev. Nick) White- all of Decatur, Alabama. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Graveside service for Mrs. Julia Ann Mason-Cunningham, 86 of Decatur will be held Friday, April 10, 2020 at 12:00pm at Decatur City Cemetery. Public viewing will be held Thursday, April 9, 2020 from 10am-5:00pm. Friday, April 10, 2020 from 9:00am until 11:00am. Because of the spread of the COVID-19 and CDC guidelines no more than 5 people in funeral home at a time for public viewing.
