Lesa (Cater) Bankhead

Lesa Michelle Cater-Bankhead was born on July 12, 1964, to Mrs. Clarice Cater-Cross and the Late Mr. Johnnie W. Cross. She entered eternal rest on January 16, 2022, at Decatur Morgan Hospital/Parkway Medical Center.

Lesa Michelle Cater-Bankhead was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She lived her life faithfully for her family. Lesa was a mother to all kinds, she saw everyone as 1. Lesa was momma to all kids or auntie. She loved her church Ebenezer Christian Church Hillsboro, Alabama and was a faithful member until her health began to fail her.

She is proceed in death by her Devoted Father: Johnnie W. Cross, Grandmother: Clara Cater and Grandfather: Robert Lee Cater.

Lesa leaves behind her long-time loving friend and husband of 38 years, Mr. Kenneth Bankhead. 6 Children: Spencer, Marketia, Jeanice, Maurice(Wakeelah), Selita and Ceciley Cater all of Decatur, Alabama. 4 Brothers: Stevie(Sharon) Cater of Decatur, Alabama, Glenn Cater of Tanner, Alabama, Keith(Angie) Cater of Lawson, Oklahoma and Andre Cater of Decatur, Alabama. 2 Sisters: Valerie Cater and Juliann Cater of Decatur, Alabama. 10 Grandchildren and her mother: Clarice Cater-Cross of Decatur, Alabama. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory 2 Aunts, 2 Uncles, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

Funeral Service for Mrs. Lesa Cater Bankhead, 57, of Decatur, Alabama who passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Decatur Morgan Hospital will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 12:00pm at Ebenezer Christian Church (located at 128 Co Rd 438, Hillsboro, Alabama 35643). Burial in Sterrs Cemetery.
