In Loving Memory of Mary Ellen Carter-Lucas

Mary Ellen Carter was born November 19, 1956, to the Late Jimmy Mason and Mary Olivia Carter. Mary as known as “May’Ellen” fought a good fight and how she is resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior. She departed this life on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at her residence.

She is proceeded in death by her Father: Jimmy Mason, Mother: Mary Olivia Carter, Siblings: BirtWarren, Mildred Bates, Hoarse Bates and Charlie Seal, Great Grandson: Ji’Myale Lance.

May’Ellen leaves to cherish her precious memories her Husband: Eddie Lucas, Children: Corlivia Fennell of Chattanooga, TN William Varnaris Fennell, Janeasha Leeann Fennell and Christian Terrell Lucas-Carter all of Decatur, Alabama. Grandchildren: Ebony Smith, Simone Fennell, Jordan Fuqua, Angel Lucas-Carter, Justis Fuqua, Jaquarius Lucas-Carter, Justin Fuqua Charity Lucas-Carter all of Decatur, Alabama. Great Grandchildren: Major Fennell and Caden Lance. Siblings: Robert Seal, Clara Mason, Dora Mason, Aretha Foster. Special Children: Tiffany Kingston, Zachary Carter, Braylen Carter, Jarvis Madden and Zyron Jones all of Decatur, Alabama.  Special Friends:  Linda Bell and Carolyn Willard. A host nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Ms. Mary Carter Lucas, 66, of Decatur, Alabama, who passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023  at her residence will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Jackson Chapel CME Church ( located at 418 Water St., Courtland, Al 35618) Burial will be held at Courtland Cemetery. The body will be in church 1hr before the service. 

Public Viewing at Sharpley Funeral Home will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 12:00 noon- until 6:00PM and on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 9:00AM-11:00AM
