Percy L. Garth was born July 4, 1949 in Morgan County, Alabama to the late Percy and Clara Mae Tucker-Garth, Sr. He departed this life on April 7, 2020 at Decatur Morgan Hospital after a long battle with heart disease.
Affectionately called "Pike" by family and friends. He attended Morgan County Training School and graduated from West Morgan High School C/O 1970. He later went on to attend Drake Community College and Alabama A&M University. Percy retired from Fruehauf where he was employed for over 30 years. He also was employed at Holiday Inn and Wal-Mart until his health started to fail him.
Pike confessed Christ at an early age at Moulton Heights Missionary Baptist Church. He later joined Calvary Assembly Of God, where he remained until his health failed him.
Percy leaves to cherish a Loving and Devoted Wife of 33 years: Prophetess Elois Garth. 3 Sons: Percy Jermaine (Temira) Garth. Justin (Crystal) Garth and Alonzo Pickett all of Decatur, Alabama. 3 Step-Children: Deshaun Smith, Bryan Turner of Decatur, Alabama. Shonika (Greg) McCreless of Huntsville, Alabama. 3 Brothers: Calvin (Lynn) Garth, Michael Garth, Randy Garth all of Decatur, Alabama. 3 Sisters: Clara Elaine Tapscott of Decatur, Alabama. Debra (Pastor Harold) Goodloe of New Orleans, LA. Melinda Renee Stovall of Pensacola, FL. Mother-In-Law: Lillian White of Decatur, Alabama. Brothers-In-Law: David White, Jerry (Cynthia) Nash of Decatur, Alabama. William A. (Vanessa) Nash, William J. Nash and Willie D. Garth. Sisters-In-Law: Mary Clark, Brenda (Ronnie) Orr, Vickie Ball, Shelia (Kirby) Nash-Stevenson, Gloria Hill, Aretha (James) Sapp and Lutissa (Richard) Parker. 5 Aunts: Doris Jones, Dora Tucker, Carrie Tucker, Fredda Tucker and Elizabeth Scott. 1 Spiritual Aunt: Dilsie Williams and a Special Niece: Adrianna Tapscott. 18 Grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Percy will be truly missed. He will always be remembered for giving everyone he met a nickname. Percy was always ready to challenge anyone to a game of dominos or basketball game. He could be caught any day fishing or selling cold drinks.

Graveside for Mr. Percy L. Garth, Jr. 70, of Decatur, Alabama who passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Decatur Morgan Hospital/ Decatur General Campus will be hel Saturday, April 11, 2020 at 12:00pm at Decatur City Cemetery. Due to the spread of COVID-19 and CDC Guidelines only 5 visitors are allowed in the facility for public viewing. With the 6ft apart.. Public viewing will be held Friday, April 10, 2020 from 10am-5:00pm. Saturday, April 11, 2020 from 9am-11am.
