Sharon Leola (Smith) Rather

Sharon Leola Smith-Rather was born on August 12, 1967, to the late Edward Smith and the late Esther Mae Smith of Limestone County. She departed this life on Saturday, October 9,2021 at Madison Hospital.

Sharon confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Triana Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America in Triana, Alabama under the leadership of the late Reverend Walter Coleman. Other than her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by a brother Edward Pernell Smith; grandfathers Egbert Smith and Robert Taylor; grandmothers Minnie Lee Taylor and Minister Viola Smith; aunts Catherine Hobbs and Pearline Taylor; uncles Clarence Smith, Johnnie Taylor, and Tom Fearn.

Warm memories of Sharon will always be cherished by her loving children: Uniquwa Rather and Michael Anthony Rather of Madison, Alabama; one devoted sister Cicley (Ryan) Waldrop of Ponte Vedra, Florida; one devoted nephew Edward Micha Waldrop of Ponte Vedra, Florida; nine aunts Clara (Elex) Jones, Maureen Fearn, Pinkie Clayborn and Caranell (John) Toney all of Triana, Alabama; Frances (Wardell) Robinson, Lottie (Bernard) Curry and Phyliss (Stephen) Miller all of Madison, Alabama; Minister Linda Williams, Catherine Smith all of Huntsville, Alabama; four uncles: Leon Smith; Billy (Bobbie) Smith and Phillip (Beverly) Smith all of Madison, Alabama; Lloyd (Sandra) Smith of Nashville, Tennessee. A host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and dear friends.

Under the directing of Sharpley Funeral Home. A Graveside Service for Mrs. Sharon Smith-Rather, 54 who passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Madison Hospital will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 2:00pm at Triana Cemetery.
