Memorial service for Mr. Thomas Black, 53, of Decatur, Alabama who passed away on Thursday, July, 27, 2023 at his residence will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at the Henrietta Garth-Sharpley Memorial Chapel (Located at 410 Railroad Street NW, Decatur, Alabama 35601)  

On Saturday, August 19, 2023 a Memorial Gathering will be held at 1:00PM at 719 Sykes St. Decatur, Al 35601.

Thomas Black was born November 24, 1969, in Decatur, Alabama to Beverly Bumpus and Rance Sutherlin.

Thomas passed from this earthly life on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at his residence. Thomas was a loving father, brother, son, grandfather and friend. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Mamie Binford, John Thomas Black Sr., Alonzo Nance and Clara Ruth Sutherlin-Nance. His uncle: John Thomas Black Jr. 

Thomas leaves behind to cherish his precious memories: His Children: Shonniqua Long, Precious Jade Black and McCaurey Drake Black, His Mother: Beverly Bumpus (Tommy), His Father: Rance Sutherlin ( Jennifer), His Grandchildren: Brennan Balentine, Ianey Balentine and Array Balentine, His Sister: Tracey Sutherlin, His Brothers: John Sutherlin and Derrick Sutherlin (Kendria),His Aunts: Doris Franklin (Edward), Peronica Porter(Zachary) and Deborah Black, His Uncle: Gregory Lynch(Debbie) and a host of other relatives and friends. Though he may be gone from this life he will not be forgotten. His memory will live on in those that he left behind.
