Willie Gibson Jr.

Willie Gibson Jr. began his journey of life on August 15, 1952. He was the second oldest child of four children.

Willie loved the Lord and his mother instilled in him that he would need someone to lean on and that was Jesus Christ. As a teenager he accepted Christ as his personal savior. He was a very active member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his church and loved to sing. Willie did cleaning duties and he loved participating in the church.

He is preceded in death by his Mother Bessie Lee Sanders, a loving-step father Percy Sanders, his father Willie Gibson Sr., his daughter Nikki Coleman, and his brothers Charles Goodwin and Marvin Gibson.

Mr. Willie Gibson was United in Holy Matrimony to Tarrian Fuqua-Gibson in Decatur, Alabama and to this union four children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Tarrian Gibson, his Children Tyrone Burgess, Austin Fuqua, Traruan Fuqua (Lakeisha), Willie Burgess, Willie Fuqua, Tyler Fuqua, Tiffanie Fuqua, Kesha Fuqua and Marvin Foster all of Decatur, Alabama and Angie of Texas. A loving sister Dorothy Austin (James) of Decatur, Alabama, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Sister-in-Law’s Wanda Jones (Rafer), Varrian Byrd, Aaron Fuqua all of Decatur, Alabama, Ingrid Fuqua of Huntsville, Alabama, Brother-in-Laws, Clarence Adkins (Demita) of Decatur, Alabama, Earnest Fuqua (Cherry), Fedrick Fuqua (Jacqueline) both of Huntsville, Alabama, Special Cousin Dorothy Johnson, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephew, Cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Mr. Willie Gibson Jr., 71, of Decatur, Alabama, who passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024,12:00 Noon at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church (2415 Old Moulton Rd, Decatur, AL 35603) burial will be held at Sterrs Cemetery. The body will be in the church 1 hour before the service.

Public viewing at Sharpley Funeral Home will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 12Noon to 5:00PM and Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 9:00AM-10:15AM.
